About the Disc

The musical trajectory of Karla Lara has taken all over Central America which is how she met many of the talented friends who, to our delight, find a place on her first disc.

 From the Costa Rican Guadalupe Urbina, a song which has been in Karla’s repertory for a long time, as well as one of Karla’s poems set to music and dedicated to Lupe with love. From Guillermo Anderson, two of his most popular songs and a bolero that Karla recorded for the first time. Pedro Hernandez, Salvadoran, came on board as soon as he was invited, and the poems of Roberto Sosa and Oscar Acosta set to music by Rosario Rodríguez and Alfredo Corrales. A bueatiful song by David Herrera and the piano master Camilo Corea. And of course there are the friends and musicians who have accompanied Karla during recent years: Ricardo Zavala, Mariano Rodriguez, and José Nery ‘el Chino’ Lara.

 ‘Guayo’ Cedeño is the artistic producer and has given form and freshness to this happy gathering, this primer disc from Karla Lara, recorded and mixed at Studio Ceibón, mastered  by Max Urso at Costa Norte Records and brought about with the support of terco prodections, HIVOS, FONCA – Christian Aid, Dan Church Aid, and the Spanish Embassy in Honduras.

 For the disc release support was also received from La Alianza Francesa and the French Embassy.
